Magic.. If Only..

Once again I start to question what kind of world we live in..

This fine specimen of manhood stabbed his wife, and then suffocated his 3 and almost 2 year old kids.

The story would melt in with the other murders and mayhem of the day, except that we knew the wife and the almost 2 year old. We were at Tresillian with them when Josie was 3 months old. I have photos of Josie and Gracie together. Its horrific to think that this could happen to someone you know.

Imagine the world we could live in if people like this were cured of their mental illnesses? If there was magic in the world..

What is WRONG with People!?

I just don't understand how people can do this to their own children??

And its not like this would have come from out of the blue? A man HAS to have anger issues to be able to do something like this, and to leave this man alone with a three year old, what was this mother THINKING?!

Its sickens me that so many people just have child upon child, only to abuse them, when so many others find it SO hard to even get pregnant, or to adopt!

In the last week I have read about a mother stopping to light a cigarette while on the phone with emergency trying to explain to her how to do CPR on her drying 6 month old, babies dying of drug overdoses..

There is something so wrong with the world..

Its Armageddon!

A few days ago a colleague was handed a book on the street by what I can only assume was a 'new christian'.

Its called Survivors, by Zion Ben Jonah (a pseudonym).

The premise is that armageddon is about to befall Earth, and pius Christians are horrified to find that they have not yet ascended to Heavan, as is foretold in the Bible.

I got right into it.. I thought what a great premise.

And on the SECOND page I come to this paragraph:

"All of the suffering, she had been told, was reserved for someone else, for someone more appropriately suited to suffering... like the Jews. After all, they have had more practice than the rest of us when it comes to suffering!"

At which point I burst out laughing..

Sheer Idiocy..

It seems the Australian Muslim community doesn't have a monopoly on extremist leaders..

Yesterday's papers were afire with indignation. A senior Sydney Sheik made some idiotic statements about women being like uncut meat laying in the sun waiting for cats to eat it.

The quote went something like:
"If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?" he said. "The uncovered meat is the problem … if she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred."

Sydney was in uproar, understandably so but it was with pride that I saw muslim women stand up and denounce this idiot sheik and his ramblings.

And now this morning, I find that we are taking up that high standard of common sense with our own brand of lunacy.

A Sydney Rabbi has declared this boy not Jewish, 4 days before his Barmitzvah, because his circumcision was done incorrectly, and that he needs it redone! What the hell?! Understandably the mother refused and went to a progressive synagogue for the Barmitzvah ceremony. And the quote from the Orthodox Rabbi?

The Australian Jewish News quotes one of the rabbis as saying the Progressive synagogue was "fooling the child" into believing he was Jewish.

How about the orthodox rabbis fooling themselves that they were living in the same world as us?

This has got me so angry. As if *ANY* mother would put their child through that a SECOND time?! And for what? Some idiot Rabbi declaring that 'yes, this child is in fact Jewish' ? Bugger that!

So yes, its a wonder that jews and muslims don't get along.. our leaders share a very similar lack of common sense..
